Lent 4 (Spiritual Refreshment)

In the Confiteor: Thou, O Lord, hast made us for Thyself:
I also think it can be said He has made us of Thyself

Perfect Divine Love sees only Itself whatever it sees.
He sees that perfection in each of us:
The perfection that constitutes each of us
Is God’s will for us: to embody the Christ.

When His gaze falls on us, He sees Himself:
He sees perfection, in and thru all the efforts
We make to forget Him, to forget who we are;
And He forgives all those efforts.

This is incomprehensible, because God and His Love
Are totally unknowable, too immense.

This is why we have the example, and mystery,
Of God’s perfect Love for us in the life of Jesus.
When we bask in the glow of Christ’s presence,
We are refreshed spiritually and, as Paul says:
All things are possible through Him

In the Gospel, Christ offers us a metaphor for how the Divine Grace effortlessly feeds to the full all who approach and open to it, surrender to it.
As we open to and approach Christ:
We find more ways to remember who we are:
Simplicity, harmony, beauty, innocence, peace;

The more we can express our gratitude,
for whatever comes to us as His gift -
the more we come into attunement with Him.

This is the preparation for Easter this week offers us:
As we approach Christ with an open heart,
He will fill us to the fullest and
Refresh us to continually do the work He would have us do in the world.
