Mythology, Archetype, Mysticism

The purpose of religion is to give guidance and practice for gaining Union with God. It has a historical basis in that the God-man killed and resurrected is a theme in several religions because it teaches us that the spiritual realm is all-powerful and creates the physical realm.

The absolute nature of God is our source and our renewal.

The celestial nature of God is our inspiration and our encouragement for devotion.

Definitions

God is “the Transcendent glory in whom all things live and move and have their being...The Name which is above every name, the Lord of love and compassion.”

The Godhead “showest itself this day upon a thousand altars.”

Connections

“May thy many children know themselves to be one in thee.”

“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all they heart and with all they soul and with all they mind and with all thy strength. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” This describes life in Union with God. It’s descriptive, not prescriptive.
